So what exactly is The G.R.I.T.S.?
Guys/Girls Raised In The South is an online literary club.
From the heartbreakers of, "Who*s loving who" --
The players and baby's mommas in romance,
To the surreal cliff-hanger thrills of suspense
This group digs deep into the drama depths found in prose & poetry.
Beginning with the classics of yesterday,
The G.R.I.T.S. family promotes --
The literary works of African American authors.
Fun packaged in silliness
Sensitivity concealed in seriousness,
Is the underlying educational process
Served up in intimate author interviews, book discussions and reviews.
The GRITS family adds charm,
A down-home style in the flavor,
Mixed with southern sophisticated humor --
And a touch of grace;
As they explore the living written words of literary art --
And the dignity and dreams of the literary artist!
